My name is Blake Phillips. I am a 24-year-old journalist currently living in mid-Missouri. I was born on the Missouri side of St. Louis, but I was raised in Southern Arizona.

I graduated from the University of Missouri in the spring of 2023 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Political Science. During my time at MU, I worked at KOMU-TV, the NBC-affiliate television station in mid-Missouri. 

Over the past two years, I’ve anchored, produced and reported at KOMU. I’ve covered three elections, the end of a state legislative session and too many breaking news stories to count. 

I chose journalism because I value the truth. Reliable news is something that the average American sees as rare nowadays. I want to build back media trust, and I see it as an honor and a privilege to be telling the stories of my community on a day to day basis.
